Munich hopes that this will conquer new mini-MPV territory: the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. It’s the production version of the BWW Concept Active Tourer we first saw back in 2011, and the undisguised version of the car we scooped earlier in 2013. The name will be 'Active Tourer'-suffixed, not '2-series GT' as previously thought. The purists might shout loudly, but money talks, and there’s huge demand for a BMW-badged family car at more mainstream prices.
Dodge is celebrating 100 years of mass-producing automobiles next year. Mini's new Countryman crossover will start at $22,350, only $550 more than the three-door Clubman wagon. A well-equipped Countryman in a Cooper S trim with optional all-wheel drive will cost just under $30,000, Jim McDowell, head of Mini USA, said Wednesday during the media launch for the vehicle. The prices include destination charges, Mini said.
